macaddress.net is committed to protecting your privacy. This tool is designed with a privacy-first architecture — all MAC address lookups are performed entirely within your web browser. No lookup data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • MAC addresses you search: All lookups happen client-side in your browser using a locally cached database. We have no ability to see, log, or store any MAC addresses you enter.
  • Personal information: We do not require registration, accounts, or any personal details to use this tool.
  • Search history: Your lookup history exists only in your browser and is not transmitted anywhere.
  • Uploaded files: When using the Bulk Lookup tool, any files you upload are read entirely within your browser using the JavaScript FileReader API. File contents are never sent to any server — they are loaded directly into the page's textarea for client-side processing. No file data, file names, or file metadata are transmitted anywhere.

Information That May Be Collected

Hosting Provider (Cloudflare)

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs including your IP address, browser user agent, and pages visited. This data is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

macaddress.net itself uses only one cookie/local storage item:

  • Theme preference (localStorage): Stores your selected color theme (green, amber, or blue). This is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted.

Third-party services (Cloudflare) may set their own cookies as described above.

Data Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Because MAC address lookups happen entirely in your browser, there is no server-side data to secure — your search data never leaves your device.

Children's Privacy

This site is a general-purpose networking tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
